Polybian Romans vs Carthage: how to handle an elephant

A rather cunning ruse. A Punic cavalry unit charges wide down the left flank drawing off the Roman cavalry. A second unit of cavalry sweeps away the velites allowing the elephant to roll up the Roman flank.

That’s the biggest weakness for the Romans, their flanks.

Yes, we have just finished another two battles of Imperial Romans vs Ancient Britons. The rules reward careful play using historical tactics. A good alternative. I am also writing up my chariot era rules.
